It seems really simple and obvious but one of the best ways to be organised is to make use of the space that you've got. Everything has a place and it's tidy enough not to take up too much room but things are convenient to grab. I don't have the biggest desk in my room but I do make the best use of it.
The picture might not be big enough to see clearly but, as you can see, I use one side of my desk for cosmetics and the other side for work (you can see which one is taking priority right now!). This arrangement leaves me the largest space for make up application/my laptop/ the occasional book.
With regards to the cosmetics side I'm sure many girls with agree with me that there are often so many of these that they take up so much space. So, I have a few little solutions for this; lots of the little things that I use less frequently (nail varnish, comapct mirrors, eye make up remover wipes, fake eyelashes etc.) are in a box on the top far left. This was a great way to use a lovely gift box that my friends gave me for my birthday without it taking up space being useless. Next to it, for ease of use, I have put the things that I use on daily basis (deodrant, hairspray, cleanser & toner etc.) I have found that leaving these out of the box makes for handy grabbing. To avoid taking up unnecessary room I have a put a few cotton wool pads with them rather than a whole pack. As you might not be able to see I also have hair bobbles/clips in a little box together and then the "every day" make up is in a make up bag with the "going out" make up in the main box, again, to save room, time and effort at 7am when I'm half asleep!
